Welcome to The Traveling Polands! We’re Shaun Poland and Emily Johnson, and we’re thrilled to share the beginning of our grand adventure with you. Here’s a little bit about us and what inspired our journey.
How It All Began
We met in 2014, and our shared passions for developing ourselves quickly bonded us. After getting married in 2019, we started dreaming about exploring the country together. In 2021, we began planning for our ultimate goal: traveling the United States in a trailer. Now, in 2024, that dream is coming true with the purchase of our Forest River Work and Play 23LT.
Why We Chose Our Trailer
Our 2024 Forest River Work and Play 23LT is more than just a trailer; it’s a home on wheels that fits our adventurous lifestyle perfectly. Shaun loves to ride his motorcycle, and Emily enjoys kayaking. This trailer allows us to bring both along, ensuring our trips are filled with the activities we love most.

Our journey wouldn’t be complete without our furry family members:
- Seymour: Our loyal dog, always ready for the next adventure.
- Mushnik and Otis: Our two beloved cats, who will join us on our longer travels, making every place feel a bit more like home.
The Adventure Ahead
We’re starting our travels right here in beautiful North Carolina. There’s so much to see and do in our home state, and we can’t wait to explore it all. From the mountains to the coast, we’re excited to share our experiences and tips with you.
Next year, we plan to expand our travels across the United States, visiting family and friends, and discovering new places along the way. Whether we’re riding scenic motorcycle routes, kayaking in serene waters, or simply enjoying the great outdoors, we’ll be documenting every step of our journey.
